I qualified from Glasgow University Vet School in 1992. I began in mixed practice in rural Northumberland, gradually seeing an increasing volume of Small Animal medicine and surgery, and cementing my main area of interest for the future. My work then took me to Oxford and Belfast, finally settling to raise my family near Edinburgh. I first worked for Alistair at Pentland Vets back in 2002-2004, then took up a permanent part-time role in 2014. Felines are my first love (don’t tell my husband), although I adore dogs, rabbits and all of the ‘small furries’ too.
Out of work, when not driving ‘mum’s taxi’, I am a keen skier and hill walker. I still love being a vet even after all these years, and in particular working with such a great clientele in this small, friendly practice.
