I originally qualified from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1993. After a short spell working in Nottingham, I moved to Edinburgh in 1994 and have worked within the local area ever since, initially at neighbouring practices in Wester Hailes and Livingston before my wife, Shelagh, and I took over the practice from Fred Nind in 2001, renaming it Pentland Veterinary Clinic at the time.
I have continued to work here, though my wife has now retired, and have had the privilege to fulfil the healthcare needs of multiple generations of the area’s pets in that time. I have also had the pleasure of watching the practice grow from a single vet and two nurses to our current four vets, four nurses and a practice manager thanks to the overwhelming support and loyalty of our clients.
When I’m not working, my hobbies include playing guitar and keyboards, recording music, visiting the gym, attending karate classes and driving an increasingly impractical succession of cars, that is when I’m not looking after our own menagerie of animals at home, as well as our two teenage sons!
